Cultivation Community and Nature
Demonstration Garden
The Demonstration Garden will be a vibrant living classroom designed to inspire and educate gardeners of all ages and skill levels. Nestled in the heart of our community, this garden will showcase sustainable gardening practices, and highlight plants that are native to the local environment, pollinator friendly, water wise and edible. As a community resource, the garden also adheres to FireSmart principles.
Our garden will
serve as a:
Vibrant living classroom: A space where individuals can learn and grow.
Accessible venue: Open to gardeners of all ages and abilities.
Environmental steward: Demonstrating sustainable & eco-friendly gardening practices.
Sanctuary for pollinators: Creating habitats for pollinators and beneficial insects.
Partnerships
LCGC is grateful to be working in collaboration with the District of Lake Country. The District has provided the SE corner of Swalwell park for the garden, and $15,000 in Community Engagement Grants to help initiate the project.
We are reaching out to community partners to donate and help the club complete the project by 2027
What you can do to Help!
If you know of anyone or any company that would be interested in donating to this exciting community project, let us know! We are looking for money and in-kind donations like soil, gravel, plants and hardscaping features.
We will also be needing people to volunteer their time to help with the garden.
We hope this will encourage people to join our club as well! We are always open to new members.
